We want our children to love church and to love God. Throughout the year SPC offers diverse education opportunities where children can have fun together while getting to know God. Check out the opportunities!
(See Sunday Discipleship link)
A “youth group” style ministry for children, grades 3-5. Friends are always welcome; reservations are not required. Parent involvement is encouraged. We meet the second Sunday of the month, September through April, and the first Sunday of the month in May, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in the A&E Gym. January 19, 2018, is our lock-in. Our theme this year focuses on Bible passages built around the typical life of a 3rd-5th grader. Each gathering includes recreation, study, discussion, and dinner.
This is a special place in worship geared specifically for children, grades K-2. Each Sunday, following the Children’s Message, children can go to the back of the sanctuary for their “own” time, where they can listen to the sermon while they color, fidget with special toys to keep their hands busy, read a book, or sit quietly with other children and hear the message that day. (Sundays, during 11:00 a.m. worship September-May)
Third Graders in Worship (TGiW)
A special class that helps introduce 3rd grade children to worship and communion. Children who participate in the class receive NIV New Adventure Bibles. TGiW begins September 17 and runs through October 22. F&E 204.
Easter Eggstravaganza & Palm Procession

Immediately following Discipleship, children are invited to participate in a Palm Sunday Procession during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service of worship.
Vacation Bible School 2017
(July 31 – August 4, 2017; 9:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) Join us this year as we travel to Egypt and explore Joseph’s Journey. This year’s Bible School experience will take children back in time as they dress in costume and travel in family tribes to the marketplace, the arena, school, and more! In the marketplace they can experience Egypt first-hand by making jewelry, wood crafts, mud bricks, and more, while also taking a break and shopping for some refreshing snacks! The arena is a time to run off that bundled energy, and then at school they can learn to write in Hebrew.
Family Advent Workshop
(Sunday, November 29, 2016, 9:45-10:45 a.m.) Children and their families gather together to make Advent Wreaths and Christmas decorations.
