We want our children to love church and to love God.  Throughout the year SPC offers diverse education opportunities where children can have fun together while getting to know God.  Check out the opportunities!

Sunday Discipleship

(See Sunday Discipleship link)

Kids Alive

A “youth group” style ministry for children, grades 3-5.  Friends are always welcome; reservations are not required.  Parent involvement is encouraged.  We meet the second Sunday of the month, September through March, and the first Sunday of the month in April and May, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in the A&E Gym.  Our theme this year focuses on Bible passages built around Virtues: courage, perseverance, good manners, anger, God sees everything, faith as a path to other virtues, honesty, and friendship.  Each gathering includes recreation, study, discussion, and dinner.

Children’s Worship

A worship opportunity geared specifically for children, grades K-2, that uses Godly Play as its resource.  (Sundays, during 11:00 a.m. worship, September – May)  F&E 202.

Third Graders in Worship (TGiW)

A special class that helps introduce 3rd grade children to worship.  Those who complete the class receive NIV New Adventure Bibles.  TGiW begins September 20 and runs through October 25.  Sign-up now in the church office.  (804-794-5311) F&E 204.

Vacation Bible School

(July 31 – August 4, 2017; 9:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) Join us this year as we travel to Egypt and explore Joseph’s Journey.  This year’s Bible School experience will take children back in time as they dress in costume and travel in family tribes to the marketplace, the arena, school, and more!  In the marketplace they can experience Egypt first-hand by making jewelry, wood crafts, mud bricks, and more, while also taking a break and shopping for some refreshing snacks!  The arena is a time to run off that bundled energy, and then at school they can learn to write in Hebrew.

Family Advent Workshop

(Sunday, November 29, 2016, 9:45-10:45 a.m.)  Children and their families gather together to make Advent Wreaths and Christmas decorations.
