Volunteers are needed any time Mondays-Saturdays. Opportunities are many and varied. They range from heavy, like unloading trucks to light, like pricing or cashiering. Outreach has organized a team headed by Gina Ahern, who will be working the first Friday of each month, beginning March 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. Contact Gina any time if you are interested in working on any first Friday. You do not need to commit to every Friday. You can also work other times during the week or on Saturdays. Restore in Midlothian on Mall Drive – Grand Opening April 28
If you have an interest in joining a team from Salisbury in March to help prepare this Restore for selling by unloading merchandise, pricing, cleaning, assembling or organizing merchandise email Scott Lau. There is an interest meeting for those who want to volunteer on March 7 from 6-7 p.m. A number from SPC have already registered to attend. Contact Scott to register if you can attend. If you cannot attend but want to volunteer, we can fill you in. A second Restore team headed by Kathy Hostetler will be working for the set up on March 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. Kathy’s team will continue working the second Friday of each month from 1-4 p.m. beginning April 13. Contact Kathy at to sign up. You do not need to commit to every Friday. March 7 – Final Volunteer Interest Meeting
We’d love to see Salisbury Presbyterian folks there, but you’re right, it will not be a problem if folks want to volunteer and can’t attend the meetings. It’s just an easy way for us to reach a critical mass. I’d also be open to coming to SP one afternoon/evening in March or April to present on the new ReStore and volunteer opportunities if you’d like?
March 9-31 – Volunteer opportunities in staging and setting up the ReStore.
Building and painting retail display fixtures and processing home decor and new furniture donation.
April 2-14 – Volunteer opportunities in receiving and processing donations at the ReStore.
Assisting in cleaning, pricing, and processing donations, displaying donations, storing donations for restock, etc.
April 16-21 – Volunteer Orientations
Training sessions will be held throughout the week to train volunteers in the specific areas that they may be interested in volunteering. (Cashier, home decor, donations processing, etc.)
April 24 – Regular Volunteer Shifts begin!
Renovation Projects (there will be no complete house builds in 2018)
They are in particular need of volunteers on Thursdays and Fridays. Shifts are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Contact Scott for a complete schedule and to help you sign up or contact Habitat’s Whitney Guthrie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
