THE MUSIC ACADEMY AT SALISBURY

Re-Opening Plans for The Music Academy at Salisbury

We have set a target date of January 4, 2021 to begin resuming in-house lessons for The Music Academy at Salisbury. This will most likely be a phased re-entry, with some of our lessons beginning then and some coming in later. It is certainly possible for that date to get pushed back past January if conditions worsen. What we know for now is that we will not be offering on-site lessons for the upcoming fall 2020 semester.

We have encouraged all of our Academy faculty & students to look into remote teaching options for the fall if they have not already done so. Students, we encourage you to stay in touch with your teacher and continue to work through those parameters if possible.

SPRING 2021 CALENDAR … COMING SOON

END OF YEAR RECITALS
It is important for students to hear other students play/sing. There is also great value in students performing in public. Therefore, each student will be encouraged to attend and play/sing at the end of year recitals and should plan to remain for the entire time. Additional performance opportunities may be offered throughout the semester.

TUITION
The tuition fee for weekly lessons is as follows:
$30.00 per each 30-minute individual lesson
$45.00 per each 45-minute individual lesson
$60.00 per each 60-minute individual lesson

Tuition covers all lessons, administrative expenses, salaries and recital expenses. Lesson books are not covered by tuition. Our instructors will select individualized lesson materials specifically for each student and the average cost of these books and materials will be approximately $25 per semester.

The lesson schedule for the Academy is largely based on the Chesterfield County school calendar; thus, the number of lessons will vary from year to year and semester to semester. Lessons run from September through mid-May. You may pay a semester’s tuition in full or pay each month by the first of that month. All tuition checks should be made payable to Salisbury Presbyterian Church with a “Music Academy” note in the memo area.

You may make tuition payments in the following two ways:

  • Bring them to the Academy mailbox in the church office or to my drop-box in the Narthex by the first of the month.
