A student should be able to practice on an instrument that facilitates progress. Guitars and string instruments should be fitted to the individual and may need upgrading as the child grows. Piano students may begin on a keyboard for one semester only. After that time, having an acoustic piano is imperative or the student’s technique will suffer and precious instructional time will be lost. The coordinator and teachers will be happy to recommend dealers for new, used, or rental instruments.
