We work with CODEP, Comprehensive Development Project, which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to cooperate with and assist the people of rural Haiti by initiating, funding, administering, and sustaining development programs aimed at increasing self-sufficiency. Visit www.haitireforest.org to see the amazing partnership in Haiti. Please consider donating to this amazing mission project, a project that needs our support to continue to grow and impact our Haitian brothers and sisters.

CARITAS provides several separate programs for men, women, and families to provide temporary shelter, help with permanent housing, and programs for addiction recovery. Their volunteer programs include: becoming a host congregation for shelter, helping at their Furniture Bank, providing expertise with basic computer skills and job-interview skills with CARITAS Works, providing meals at The Healing Place (recovery center), and donation drives.

The mission of Chesterfield Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministry (CCHASM) is to coordinate community resources and empower self-sufficiency for those in need. CCHASM operates 25 food pantries designed to aid families experiencing an emergency situation. They will assist with other emergency needs for families facing temporary hardship. The Career Clothes Closet provides women’s interview and work clothing. The Thanksgiving Meal Program provides the food to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner to over 3000 families each year. Richmond Friends of the Homeless was formed to strengthen and enrich the community life of the disadvantaged and homeless in Richmond. They provide a nutritious lunch seven days a week in two impoverished neighborhoods. RFOH also provides much needed services to those living in poverty: blankets, clothing, warm winter items, personal hygiene kits, and food baskets. Counseling, referral services, and regularly scheduled “health fairs” are also offered. SPC has partnered with RFOH since its inception in 1986.
