A full camp of fifteen children participated in Salisbury’s second One Week of Service opportunity June 26-30, 2017. Activities included playing bingo and making sensory bottles with the residents at The Laurels, a Random Act of Kindness activity at Chesterfield Town Center Mall, and visiting and interacting with the animals at the Richmond Animal League. Children also worked in our SPC garden, learned about and sorted food at the food bank at St. Mathias Episcopal Church, helped sort items for the Remote Area Medical Mission at Redeemer Episcopal Church, and then learned about being good stewards of God’s creation and helped clean a hiking trail at Camp Hanover. While children were at our church, they participated in Bible studies and high energy games. It was an exhausting week for everyone, but a very rewarding week. And in the words of children who participated in the week, “This was the best camp ever!”
