Remote Area Medical Clinic has served people in the Appalachian Region of Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee since 1999. It is held annually in Wise County, Virginia. Redeemer Episcopal Church is requesting donations of clothing, etc. Please see for the list below of requested items.

Items can be dropped off at Redeemer Episcopal Church on Winterfield & Salisbury Roads on Saturdays in June (June 2,9,16, & 23). For more information, contact Lou Markwith (ln_markwith@verizon.net or 239-5303).

2018 RAM Clothing Needs List

Men’s, Women’s and Children’s Clothing:
• Gently worn casual shoes, tennis shoes, and boots (little need for dress shoes)
• New socks and underwear
• Infant wear, toddler clothing of all types
• Outerwear: heavy-weight coats to rain coats
• Pants, casual shirts and tops, sweaters, sweatshirts, shorts, and all things camouflage
• Jeans, jeans, jeans – ALL THINGS DENIM
• Plus sizes of any type of clothing
• Women’s business wear for “Dress for Success” program
• Dresses – including wedding dresses and prom dresses
• Belts, purses, and pocket books

Durable Medical Equipment:
• Potty chairs, wheel chairs, shower stools, canes, crutches, etc

Hangers: All types EXCEPT wire hangers and skirt hangers

Women’s sanitary supplies

Clothing Not Accepted:
• Used underwear
• Used socks
• Bathing suits

Clothing Discouraged:
• Men’s or women’s dress shoes
• Skirts – except denim skirts
• Men’s blazers/sport coats
• Men’s ties
• Items stained, torn, missing buttons or with broken zippers
