Marketplace 29 AD: A Bible Times Experience
9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Welcome to the Marketplace in 29 A.D.! News is alive with amazing stories of Jesus. Jewish shops in the market are busy as the shopkeepers open their stores for business. The jewelry maker, carpenter, basket weaver, brick maker, and baker are at their shops early getting a head start on the day. The candle and soap shops are unpacking their supplies. Fresh leather hangs from the tent ceilings. Synagogue school is open this week; the Arena has a full slate of games.
Vacation Bible School at Salisbury Presbyterian Church this year comes alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of a First Century Jewish marketplace and Temple. Children will live in family tribes and travel throughout the day with their families as they experience life as it might have been during the times of Jesus. Authentic Jewish customs, music, dancing and crafts are employed.
This year Vacation Bible School is open to children ages 3 (potty-trained and three years of age as of January 1, 2018) through completed grade 5. Cost: $10 per child. Please register by June 17.
