Our Journey…

July 15-19, 2019

At To Mars and Beyond VBS, your students enjoyed an interactive, energizing, Bible-based good time as they explored where God’s power can take them. They became Voyagers and discovered how to serve God and God’s mission for their lives.

After a high-energy Opening Assembly time, Voyagers made their way to the Bible Story Station. Interactive Bible lessons reveal Power Launcher (key learnings) to equip them for an active life with God. Your Voyagers also discovered our Vector Verse (Bible memory verse), Ephesians 3:20 – Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us!

Students expanded on their discoveries by making their own art projects at the Craft Station, singing new songs at the Music Station, exploring the wonders of creation at the Science Station, playing games at the Recreation Station, and enjoying tasty treats at the Snack Station. Along the way, the Voyagers heard about our mission project and responded to a call for action!

Our VBS Mission: Misson! this week was HopeTree Foster Care.  We raised money to help kids who are placed in foster care have everything they need.  Sometimes children placed in foster care may not even have their pajamas with them, or they may need school supplies, car seats, toys, or clothes that they’d have at home.  By giving what we can,we helped kids in foster care feel more at home while they are away from their families in a difficult time.

Thanks for Blasting Off on this Epic Adventure with Us!

Day 1: Daniel Trusts God in the Lions’ Den (Daniel 6).

Today’s Bible story was Daniel & the Lions–Daniel had faith that God would protect him from the lions—and God’s power went beyond his expectations!  Ask your kids how they can trust God to help them in different situations.

Day 2: Queen Esther Takes a Stand (Ester 4-9).

Today kids learned about Queen Esther, and her boldness to risk her life to protect God’s people.  Ask your kids about a time they could be bold for God, going beyond what they thought they could do!

Day 3: The Good Samaritan Helps a Fellow Traveler (Luke 10:25-37).

Our adventure continues today with a trip to Planet Love to collect the element of Kindness! We learned about how the Good Samaritan showed Kindness without expecting anything in return–ask your kids about ways they can show kindness every day in little ways!

Day 4: Jesus Heals 10 Lepers (Luke 17:11-19).

We learned about how Jesus healed 10 lepers, but only one came back to say thank you. Ask your kids today what they are thankful for, and share some things that you are thankful for as well.

Day 5: Jesus Comforts Friends on the Way to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35).

Today our voyagers learned about Jesus giving Hope to his disciples on the road to Emmaus.  Talk with your child about a time God gave them hope, or share a story of your own about when God drew near when all seemed lost.  They learn about God best from you–the ones who love them most!
